STROKE AUDITORIUM

Dr. Tirschwell is a professor of neurology, medical director of Comprehensive Stroke Care at the UW Medicine Stroke Center at Harborview and program director of the Stroke Fellowship. 

Dr. Tirschwell received his bachelor’s degree at Wesleyan University followed by his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and a master’s of science in epidemiology from the University of Washington. His internship in internal medicine, residency in neurology and Stroke Fellowship were all completed at the UW. Dr. Tirschwell is board certified in both general neurology and vascular neurology and is a fellow of the American Heart Association, the American Academy of Neurology and the American Neurological Association.

EDWARD JAUCH, MD

Dr. Jauch is a nationally recognized leaders and expert in the treatment of stroke.

He is one of the principle authors and chair of the 2013 American Stroke Association's Guidelines for Treatment of Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke. 

 

Dr. Jauch is Professor, Division Director, Division of Emergency Medicine, Department of Medicine, Associate Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Medicine, Professor in the Department of Neurosciences, and faculty, MUSC Comprehensive Stroke Program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).

DENNIS DIETRICH, MD

Dennis Dietrich, MD

Dr. Dennis Dietrich is a local Neurologist who is affiliated with Advanced Neurology Associates in Great Falls, Montana.  He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and has been in practice for 34 years.

DAVID TIRSCHWELL, MD

STEPHEN JOHNSON, MD

Dr. Stephen F. Johnson graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1971. He works in Missoula, MT and specializes in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Johnson is affiliated with Saint Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana.

PENNY CLIFTON, RN, BSN, CNRN, SCRN

Penny has been a Registered Nurse for thirty five years with a focus in ICU neurotrauma, brain injury, and program development. She has worked for St. Vincent Healthcare since 1990. She served as the Trauma Coordinator between 2003-2010 and she has served as the Stroke Coordinator from 2010 to today. Penny is a Certified Stroke and Neuroscience Registered Nurse. She is in the process of completing her masters degree in nursing education at the University of Mary.

 

HEATHER WICKS, RN, BSN, CEN

Heather graduated from Montana State University in 2008, and has over 8 years of emergency department experience in total. After a short time nursing on the medical/surgical floor at Livingston Healthcare, she transferred into the emergency department, where she became a certified instructor in ACLS, PALS, ENPC, and TNCC, modernized the trauma care as the trauma program registrar and coordinator, including recognition by the State of Montana as an invited speaker at Montana Trauma Systems Conference in 2014, and eventually became the emergency department manager. She is currently an ED nurse and the Stroke Program Coordinator at Bozeman Health.
